Following an invitation to the International Technical Conference of the Soyo-Congo-Cabinda Transportation Link in June 2007, a joint effort by the governments of Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo, Dar in association with DarGroup’s T.Y. Lin International embarked on the Soyo-Congo-Cabinda Link project. The project is to become a key thoroughfare for passage of the future Trans-African Highway running between Cape Town, South Africa and Tripoli, Libya.
The project offers considerable short and long-term economic advantages in the Republic of Angola’s northern region, and fosters new developments such as the New City at Soyo. Slated to open up the Province of Cabinda to greater Angola, the network creates a northern economic hub for Angola by establishing a vehicular traffic, railway corridors, gas and oil pipelines, power lines, and telecommunications lines.
